Weathering the storm
I know that it has been a while since my last post and I am sorry for that, some of you may not have even noticed at all. However with the recent developments of hurricane Matthew, I have been without power for a few days. But over the past few days I noticed something, something that I may not have noticed before and that is how incredibly lucky we are. Now hear me out, some of you may be looking around going- "I'm lucky"??? But yes you are lucky, we woke up this morning. Do you know how many people would kill for a chance to wake up or have a loved one wake up? We are the chosen ones that have been given this day to use to our advantage. I am not going to preach to you about how you should always do good in your life, no you have heard that all too many times. I know that some of you may read this blog and run to the vices that have you by the throat. To each their own, we all have our own personal battles we face each and every day. However when you went to sleep the night before and you had the confidence that you were going to wake up the next day, have you ever stopped to think about what if I did not wake up. You would leave a lasting mark on the world with what you have done since but will your lasting mark be one that people will remember or will they forget? Many struggles take us by the hand and guide us down a path that we may not want to venture down, but it is what you do with your gift of life each and every day that will decide the mark you will leave.
I know I may have rambled and have gotten off track and well that is a flaw of mine, but we will work through it together in order to keep helping those who need it the most. So let's finish that original thought, You woke up today- Yes your eyes opened and light flooded them, but do you see your light as a gift or a burden. Many times we are faced with adversity in our lives and we cannot see a way around them. However, I saw over the past few days the amount of character the world still has, since the hurricane has hit our area, people from all over the country have been coming in to assist those who were affected by the storm. We have been without power for a few days and crews from other states rushed into the area to make sure that they had a joint effort in the clean up. Those crews did not have to leave their families to come and help, they have their own problems that they are facing, but they came to help anyway. That showed me that even through the roughest part of your storm, there is always someone to help. Even when you feel as if that nothing will go right for you, please hang on and know that weathering the storm will have better results for you than you can imagine. Keep your hope alive and press on.
