Look ahead

The aftermath of what we are facing can bring you down.  It can tear you apart, it can be your worst enemy.  How can we win against the demons we face on a daily basis?  For those of us who feel the burden of the world, what can we do to lighten our load?  What options do we have to bring a light into an ever fading world?  The change has to being with you, you cannot expect someone else to save you when you are not willing to save yourself.  The struggle we all face is that of our own and we cannot expect someone else to know the exact struggle and come in and rescue us.  Now I know that may seen a little harsh, but it is the truth.  How can we be a light to the world when we cannot even light our own path?  The change starts within you, you have to find what makes you happy.  What makes you feel the most free with your circumstance and can you reasonably achieve that level of happiness.  For some of us, it takes just a simple step out of the dark and into the light and we can achieve what we are looking for.  Others it may take several steps before you can begin to feel free.  But I urge each of you today to never give up on finding that light.  Find the hope that drives you, find the love that can carry you through.  Yes we will be faced in this life with disappointment and sorrow, but that does not have to consume us.  Be strong in your fight against depression and anxiety.  Many times when I see people and speak to people who have the same struggle as I do, I picture us going into battle.  We all have a different set of armor that we wear, some of our armor is thicker than others, but each of us have the strength to fight.  With each negative thing you face, you are growing stronger.  Your armor is getting thicker and you will be able to eventually handle certain situations without fear.  Where ever you are in your armor building phase, please know that those who have a full set have been working towards it for a while.  Each of us have to take steps into the light to build up ourselves.  We cannot face everything on our own and that is where I wanted to help you gain some of your confidence.  Reach out to a good friend who will help you on your journey- If you do not have any friends or better yet feel as if you do not have any friends- Learn to connect with someone who has similar interests as you.  When you find common ground with someone, it can open the door to your recovery.  Leaning on people should not be seen as a weakness, but it should be seen as building your strength.  So for today, learn to look ahead.  Look ahead as to where the light is shining.  Look towards your future and don't be held down by the events that have already happened.  You have been given the tools to help you succeed in your journey, however we must take little steps before we can be fully encompassed by the light.  Each day is a new battle and it is how you fight for yourself that leads to the outcome.  So be strong, stay vigilant in the fight and do not let your past become your future.
