Broken
"We are all born to broken people on their most honest day of living" - Listener, Wooden Heart. Do you ever think that some people have it all together and that their life is perfect? Well you are wrong, we are all fighting some sort of battle that only we know. Many days that battle that we face can consume us and take over our though pattern, but that is where we lose. We lose who we are and who we want to become when we let ourselves get down. We miss out on the opportunities that life has presented us with. We at many times tend to focus on the negative, but in reality we are surrounded by so much of the positive. We tend to overlook the positive and act like it does not exist, but what if you took notice of the positive that surrounds you? What if you turned that negative thought and transformed it to one of a more positive manner. What if I told you that you could essentially rewire your thought pattern? Sounds crazy right? Well there is an actual science called Neuroplasticity, this is where you can take a negative thought and turn it into a positive and your brain will eventually learn that behavior. So in other words, you can start to think on more of a positive mindset and fight off the negative. This science is intriguing because it means that the mind is an endless tool that we can shape and mold into how we want to feel. I was shown a national geographic documentary on the subject and the interesting thing is that it focused around two individuals, one of which only had half a brain and the other who was completely blind. The lady with half of a brain learned to walk, talk, write, and swim after she had her accident that left her in that state. She is also fluent in 5 different languages. This goes to show that even with half of what others normally have, she has overcome a tremendous obstacle in her life to be where she wants to be. I'm going to type that one more time, WHERE SHE WANTS TO BE, not where depression or anxiety wants us to be. Not where our negative emotions wants us to be, but where we want to be. The other individual who was in the video was a gentleman who was blind and he learned (with the help of a special machine) to see again with his tongue. Yes with his tongue... This just goes to show you to never give up, never let your circumstance dictate who you are going to become. You can become anything in this world. You just have to believe in yourself. Stay strong in the fight, the more battles you win, the more self confidence you will gain. Be brave, be you.
