Growing through it all

Have you ever seen or have been a part of putting marks on your wall to show your growth as a kid?  Do you remember the excitement you received when you saw just how much you were growing?  After a while, you quit marking the wall because you reached a certain point where you either stopped growing or you lost interest in the subject, however those marks remain on the wall.  Those marks on the wall represent a time in your life where you were growing and you were learning.  What has changed for you now to the point where you may have quit growing?  I know for myself it is my circumstances that have blocked me in the past, but as of now I am working on moving past what I can see in the present and have learned to look forward to the future.  That is part of my growth with this journey we call life.  This in my opinion is one of the most difficult processes we can learn.  It is easy to get complacent in life and just settle where you are, but you are meant for much more in this life.  You have the ability to grow even when you are an adult, just because you no longer mark the wall with you growth, does not mean it still does not happen.  Have you ever learned from a circumstance at work or with friends or family that have helped you in future situations?  That is an example of more growth!  Many times we can get down about where we are in life, but where you are currently does not have to be where you reside for the rest of your life.  What area of your life can you start to grow in?  Can it be speaking to one extra person a day or simply taking a step to go back to school.  I have seen a lot of people give up on what they wanted out of life and have just settled as to where they are now.  It seems like they just lost their spark somewhere along the way and never regained it.  However you do not have to lose that spark for a brighter future, yes it may dim from time to time, but that spark can carry through anything that you face from day to day.  Let that spark be the hope that guides you to somewhere you want to be, let it be the catalyst for capturing that dream you had long ago.

Have you ever seen a success story as to where the person simply waited for their chance in life?  You have to be the one who determines where you end up in your journey.  Yes the road will be tough at times, but you have what it takes to become what you dream of.  Remember those marks we were talking about earlier, well let us use them still today.  Now you do not have to mark your wall, but if you do use it as a tool or guideline to help you grow.  For today, make the commitment that you will take a step towards personal growth, mark your wall again to show yourself that you are still growing as an individual.  Growth will not come easy, but those marks will show you what you have accomplished in the past and what you will continue to accomplish in the future.  Your future is much brighter than it may seem.  Take the chance today to show yourself that you can still grow into the person you wish to be.
