The Sun Comes Back
Lately it has been raining and cold where I am, for many of you there could be snow on the ground. But honestly I love that kind of weather so it doesn't bother me :) However for many of us, when the skies are gray it brings a season of depression that envelopes us and wont let go. We find it hard to get out and enjoy the things that you once loved, it at times can feel like you are in a box and can't find your way out. Now I know that sounds like just about everything else you have heard when it comes to the topics... But I promise I am going somewhere with it. One time my family and I went to visit our family for Christmas. We were there when one of the worst snow storms hit that area. My poor wife.... That was her first trip up north to see my family and we were stuck inside the house with 36 inches of snow and 60 mph winds... Gotta love winter :) We would stand there and watch people trying to figure out how to get out of their houses and go one with their lives. For me that shows a lot of resilience that you can face your circumstance no matter how great it may seem at the time. Often times I see others pile "snow" up in front of them to block out the world and the issues that need to be faced. We build walls up so often that at times we block ourselves out. Once the walls are erected, they are incredibly difficult to get past. At times it may seem that no matter how hard you try, you can't move the wall of "snow". But I can tell you that eventually the sun comes back out and melts away the snow. Life returns again and your world is filled once again. You ever notice that when snow melts and puddles begin to form, that the light just reflects so bright? Well that is what happens when we face what is on the other side of the wall. Our lives become much brighter and happier. So if you are facing a snow wall today (sorry I don't have a better example), then wait. The sun will eventually come back out and melt away any anxiety and depression you may have. The season that you are in is not forever, so don't build up a wall that you think lasts forever, because in the end all walls can come down... Just ask Germany (sorry nerd humor).
For today: Tear down the walls that we place in front of us. I know that this message will seem similar to others that I have done, but I often times feel that we need to hear something a few times over to believe it. I am a words of affirmation person and no matter how many times I hear that I am doing a good job, it is always nice to hear. So wait this season out with the hope that tomorrow will be brighter...Even if you have snow walls built up that doesn't mean that you can't have some fun and enjoyment where you are... look at how many snowball fights you can have. I know that it is easy for me to sit behind a computer and type this message, but I honestly try to practice what I type and I know the struggle is real. Please keep your heads up and moving forward. Make today a great day and if not today then pick a day in the future to try and have some positive change happen. Keep tearing down those walls one piece at a time and you will eventually realize that they can come down easier than we think.
Until next time!
