Hope for more
Time... What a concept, if you think about it we cannot do anything to change it (aside from daylight savings time). We are given a certain amount of time here on this earth and we do not know how long that will be for. Recently my Mother was diagnosed with cancer. It came as a shock to all of us, but one of the things that I have learned from this experience is that we need to cherish our time each and everyday. I know that on a daily basis we face challenges and struggles that may hold us back, but my question to you is why would you want to give your time away to something that is minute. ( I say minute but it could seem like a mountain right now, but overall there is nothing that you face that you cannot overcome with a little help). Every second that ticks off the clock is another moment gone, we cannot get that time back unless we invent time travel and then who the heck knows... But the time we are given is so precious that we often times take it for granted. We think that we will just put something off until tomorrow but tomorrow is not promised. We can never be fully sure of what will happen from day to day. Have you had that grand parent that you thought that you would just wait and go see then tomorrow or next week? What happens when that grand parent is no longer here? Will you regret that time you could have spent with them but didn't? I do, my grandmother was right down the road and I barely saw her, but that was my own doing. I let those moments that I took for granted slip through my fingers and now I cannot take them back. I have wished a 1000 times over that I could go back and just spend more time with her, but in the end I can't. So learn from my example and take advantage of the time that we are given. I know at times we want to run away and but when has running ever fixed anything? When has not facing what is holding you back and stealing your time ever been to your advantage? More times than not, it has not helped you. When we take charge of your well being and start to enjoy the little things in life, you will start to value your time more and more. Don't let your thoughts or your feelings dictate how you spend your time. Trust me, I know it is a lot easier to just sit and sulk about things, but in the end you will regret the time that was wasted. It is OK to feel those things from time to time, but how you recover and use your time helps determine the quality of life you will have.
For today, look at something that you wish you spent more time on. PLEASE do not dwell on it if there is regret. Everyone plays the fool sometimes and we need to take that experience and learn from it. Use that knowledge that you have and move forward and learn to spend your time more wisely. Look forward to things in this life and don't worry about the things that hold you back. Stand strong in the face of what you fear and tell whatever it is that it does not have the power to take anymore time away from you. You are worth every second of every day and don't you dare let anyone else or let any emotion make you feel different. You are in control of you future and how you spend your time. Use your time that we have left to be happier and or start the journey to become happier. Keep your head above the water that may surround you and keep moving. You can do this, I believe in you.
