Hope
Ah that word has appeared once again in this blog. I know that people may be tired of hearing, "Oh you've just got to have hope that things will change". That may be true but it takes a lot of practice to have the kind of hope that can change a circumstance. Hope is one of those uphill battles that you may face on your day to day journey. Now having hope does not mean that your journey is going to be easy, but having hope can give you the drive to keep going through whatever you face to become better. If we have hope and or give hope to someone then you may change their course of their life forever. You never know what impact you are going to have throughout the day when you see people. For instance, you could have a friend or family member that may battle some of the same issues as you, try to lift their spirits some. Make them smile, bring them a moment of joy that can't be replaced. I know that the feeling of joy can be fleeting, but in the end you have made an impact on their life for that brief instance. Now don't get me twisted here, that one moment is just that, it is a moment. You know as well as I do that this is a journey that we face on a daily basis, but when you give someone else a little bit of joy, you also get joy out of it. Once that joy occurs, you tend to build that joy up in your own life. Funny how this is all going to come full circle here in a second. So what does joy bring....? Well joy can fuel hope. Hope can fuel recovery and happiness. Hope is such a powerful tool that it can help you overcome anything that you face. However you don't have to be full of hope to be successful. Start small and build up hope a little at a time. Face something that you normally would not face throughout the day. Step out of the comfort zone you are in and or fear getting out of and try to face what you fear. Watch every time you face that fear, your hope will begin to rise, once that hope starts to rise then you can feel more and more accomplished. Don't be ashamed of yourself if you stumble, we at the end of the day are human and will make mistakes... Everyone plays the fool at some point in time. Don't beat yourself up about a stumble but learn from it and how you can face that stumble again and win.
For today, have hope (looks at previous sentence about how "easy" that is to say). Start small, don't dive into the deep end and expect to be an Olympic swimmer. Over time you will become the next phenom in swimming in the deep end, but as of right now, let's try to keep those water wings on. Face something that you fear today and or soon and try to build up your own hope. Once you feel like you are ready then try to breathe hope into someone else. The more of a support system you can build around you, the better off all of you will be. There is strength in numbers and you can do it. I believe in you and how far you may have come already. Don't give up the fight because you feel that your hope has dwindled, but in turn pick your head up and keep moving. Have hope, give others hope and watch as the world around you will transform.
